Bent-Con is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization created in 2010 and is committed to recognizing, celebrating, encouraging and appreciating LGBTQ and our (UnGay) Allies contributions to pop-culture and geekdom. Specifically, comic-books, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy and horror mediums from artists, writers, creators, publishers, directors, actors and producers that create works targeted directly to LGBTQ audiences and the larger realm of mainstream and underground pop-culture as a whole.

J. Sayuri is a Los Angeles based comic book writer and artist. After graduating from UC Berkeley’s art practice program, she returned to her hometown of LA to tap into the art and technology scene.

She has written two educational comic books for the state of California that illustrate water conservation techniques during this period of immense drought. Both California’s Drought And what YOU Can Do! and California’s Drought and Outdoor Water Conservation! can be found on her website and on www.saveourwater.com.  

J. Sayuri is also chipping away at her first graphic novel, The Musical Melodyians, which is serves as the narrative core of a larger transmedia project that includes webisodes, music, musical instruments and video games.

As a well-rounded geek, her interests also include honing her machining skills, seeking out new people and developments in the Maker Movement, prototyping musical robots and 3D printing.
