Bent-Con is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization created in 2010 and is committed to recognizing, celebrating, encouraging and appreciating LGBTQ and our (UnGay) Allies contributions to pop-culture and geekdom. Specifically, comic-books, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy and horror mediums from artists, writers, creators, publishers, directors, actors and producers that create works targeted directly to LGBTQ audiences and the larger realm of mainstream and underground pop-culture as a whole.

Phil Jimenez

Phil Jimenez is an Wizard, Diamond, and Inkpot Award-winning writer and artist who has worked for DC Entertainment and Marvel Comics for the past two decades. Best known for his work on New-X-Men, Astonishing X-Men, Wonder Woman, The Invisibles, Infinite Crisis, Otherworld, the Amazing Spider-Man,  the Fables spin-off Fairest, Savage Wolverine, and Angela,  Jimenez has also worked in film (Spider-Man), television (Heroes), print media (TV Guide, Elle), and in design/packaging (Hasbro).  He has created large-scale artworks for schools and museums, including the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry; has lectured at universities and the Library of Congress on the topic of identity and diversity in entertainment, and also mentors young designers at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. Considered the most prominent gay creator in mainstream comics (Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly), and featured as one of Out magazine's Out 100 last year, Jimenez also teaches life drawing at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.
