Sometimes our deepest fantasies are fun to read or to write about, although they are things we would never actually do. Here the panelists and the audience discuss M/M, F/F, F/M, M/M/F, F/F/M or any other alphabetical combination that comes to mind. We delve into the various wonderful and disturbing sexual fantasies: emasculation stories, pegging and other uses for sex toys, female domination/supremacy, spanking, CFNM. (The word “perversion” is to be taken lightly here because this is a discussion with no judgment, condemnation, or evaluation of other people’s fantasies.)

What Makes a Quality GLBT Entertainment Product?
Although the idea may sound cold and businesslike, what is the GLBT product today? How do we capture the GLBT character, the essence of what it means to be GLBT, for example? How do we translate that experience in 21st Century terms? In just the last year we have seen a groundswell of support from even the most unlikeliest of places; republicans, Christian groups, and from small towns across the U.S. Yet the old battles persist. Because we are marrying and adopting in some places does that mean our entertainment productions should reflect that new assimilation? As a minority we are all sexes, all races, all stereotypes, all income levels and a plethora of experiences. Is there still a place for the LGBT niche film, or are we being absorbed into the mainstream? Do we still rely on stereotypes to get laughs? Have we as gay people embraced all types of GLBT people within our own circles so that we can tell these stories? Should we be more focused on product that we identify with rather than trying to assimilate into mainstream entertainment? And what role do the newer avenues of entertainment play in GLBT life like streaming content, videogames, and audiobooks? What about straight actors playing GLBT characters? Is this a good thing? And what of funding? Is there enough funding being brought into GLBT entertainment so that we can make quality product? In this hour we hope to answer some of these questions and to learn something new about the direction GLBT entertainment is moving and hopefully will be moving in the future.

Gay Wizards and Lesbian Sorceresses
When, in 2007, J.K. Rowling announced that Albus Dumbledore, the wisest of her wizards, was gay, many gay and lesbian fantasy fans smiled and said, “Yeah, we know already; he’s not the only one.” We’ve asked why so many wizards and sorceresses in fantasy fiction and fairy tale lack a significant other. Did the storyteller know of their spouses, but chose to keep their love in the closet?

For, like gay men and lesbians, wizards and sorceresses tend to live apart from or outside of the cultural mainstream. Does this separation, this difference, give us access to a certain wisdom?

Mixing Genres
Writers like to combine science fiction, romance, gay or lesbian, erotica, and mystery into one novel, which does not fit the bookseller rationale. Mixing genres makes for an interesting and rich read, but the bookstores classify the novel in horror, romance, counter culture or anywhere where readers cannot find it or they don’t stock it at all because it doesn’t fit into their system of classification.

Queer comic book characters have finally started coming out of the closet, with some even getting married! With such strides taking place for the LGBTQ community, we would like to examine how other minorities have fared over time. How has race and class impacted characters in comics? How many comic book characters can you name that are People of Color (POC) and working class [besides Static Shock]? Is there a reason why there are not any Queer, working class, People of Color characters that are also superheroes? Join us for this lively discussion as we examine race, class, and sexuality in comics.

Wonder Woman: The Kink in the Golden Lasso
Wonder Woman has perhaps had more real-world impact than any other comic book hero (Yes, including Superman and Batman!) despite her notable absence in media. In this in-depth exploration of the kinky psychology espoused in William Moulton Marston’s original 1940s stories, we will examine Wonder Woman as a subversive force in patriarchal culture. We’ll look at Marston’s original intent and what happened to the Amazing Amazon after his passing, as well her present-day relevance. It will be fun and informative, and will likely forever change the way you see Wonder Woman!

The Advent of the GLBT Audiobook
In the last few years many authors who write GLBT fiction and non-fiction have discovered the audiobook as a way to extend their reach as well as creating a new source of entertainment for the GLBT audience. Our panel will discuss this exciting new medium from the perspective of the author, narrator and producer. Is the sale of GLBT audiobooks lucrative for audiobook publishers? Is it good for professional GLBT actors to narrate GLBT audiobooks, or will this hurt their prospects in mainstream entertainment? Why is it difficult to get GLBT audiobooks reviewed in the mainstream press? Is there a predominance of sexually explicit male/male (M/M) books on the market and, if so, is this because erotica sells better among GLBT listeners, or is it because there is a lack of literary novels written from the GLBT perspective? Why are (M/M) romance audiobooks so popular with young heterosexual women? Why are there comparatively so few audiobooks from the lesbian, bisexual, and transgender perspective? And what of the GLBT young adult market? We will tackle as many of these questions as possible and hopefully discover what's working and what's not, and discover how to get the GLBT audiobook on a road to success.

Lilly in the Grinder
Ryan struggles to find meaning in his provisional existence, exploring sex and death and the idea of 'becoming something.' This surreal film, enveloped in a classical string quartet piece, is a rumination on death, time, and the nature of existence. It posits the idea of a human life as a static, four-dimensional entity that exists at a specific moment in time and cannot be said to truly begin or end.

Narcissist
'Narcissist' is the story of a kind soul (Evan) who attracts a dark knight (Rob) into his life. It's almost as it's meant to be until Rob goes from a charming man to a manipulative individual who suddenly pulls the carpet out from Evan, smashing his heart into a million pieces.

Evan's post-traumatic stress (PTSD) ends up taking him to a place of truth while Rob spirals into his own midlife crisis.

Sometimes one must experience darkness to find a true authentic light.

Modern Vampires - Do It Yourself
These vampires don't sparkle and they suck more than blood.  Whether it be folklore, regional history or a media darling the vampire has changed over the decades as society dictated.  Once the vampire was a creature wandering the night landscape making sure everyone stayed indoors now, they are sparkle bunnies that make teenage girls throw money at them. So the Blood Nation Novels, a yaoi series of adult books and now graphic novels in another attempt at redesigning the fantastical un-dead.

Yaoi's Golden Age: Boys Love Anime in the USA
Manga/anime reviewer Lyn Jensen will return to host a talk on classic Japanese yaoi anime that's available to American audiences primarily because one company, Media Blasters, picked up the licenses that other American anime distributors backed away from. We'll explore such classics as "Level C," "My Sexual Harassment," "Gakuen Heaven," "Mirage of Blaze," "Fake," "Kizuna," "I Shall Never Return," and "Loveless." Most of these titles have also been cross-marketed as manga (graphic novels) to the English-language market. We may have a few surprises, too!

Love Machines: Robots and Romance in Comics
From Fritz Lang's Metropolis to Spike Jonez' Her people have been fascinated with the idea of man and machine falling in love. More and more this idea appears in fiction, appealing to people the world over. What does this say about our own connection to technology, and how will this change as A.I. gets better at emulating our thoughts, feelings and desires?

LOVE MACHINES is a comic book anthology asking these questions. In addition to discussing the series, we'll spotlight some of our favorite pairings between organic and artificial beings. Joining Josh Trujillo, creator of LOVE MACHINES, will be series artists Patrick Horvath and Michael Schisler, along with special guest Alex Woolfson, creator of the groundbreaking sci-fi graphic novel ARTIFICE.

Bite Marks
While backpacking across the country, bickering gay couple Cary and Vogel decide to speed up their trek by hitchhiking instead. That's when fate brings them Brewster, a sexually confused trucker who picks the pair up on his way to delivering a shipment of coffins. After a few strokes of bad luck, the mismatched trio ends up lost and broken down in an abandoned junkyard. Though surviving a night of petty fights and sexual tension seems tough enough, the nightmare is only just getting started as strange noises in the back of the truck reveal the presence of five bloodthirsty vampires.

The tide seems to be shifting in a positive direction, but female, minority, and LGBT gamers are still underrepresented in game content and they must also deal with a frequently hostile online gaming environment. Join us in this roundtable for an in depth discussion where we share questions, ideas, and stories about diverse gaming and discuss what we can do as players to make online gaming a safer space.

She Makes Comics: A Documentary Celebration of Women in Comics
Did you know that women have been writing and drawing comics professionally since the early 1900s? Or that women made up over half of comic book readers in the 1950s? It's true: women have always been a part of comics, and it's time to shine a light on their contributions.

Join the filmmakers behind such comics documentaries as Grant Morrison: Talking with Gods and The Image Revolution as they talk about their latest project, She Makes Comics, a film telling the storied history of women in comics. They will screen footage from the film and talk with special guests Wendy Pini (Elfquest) and Alan Kistler (comics historian) about the state of women in comics today. This is your chance to check out the documentary everyone will be talking about and join the celebration of women in comics.

The David Whitting Story
A surreal black comedy which combines actual documentary interviews; staged scenes in which actors portray Ayn Rand, Mike Wallace, Cesar Romero, Lee J. Cobb. and other historical figures; telephone interviews and Google searches, all in an effort to solve two lifelong mysteries: who was David Whiting (who died mysteriously in an Arizona motel during a Hollywood film shoot) and what was the cause of his death? In this film, gender roles switch back and forth arbitrarily; cross-dressing rules. Imagine the classic film RASHOMON (which deals with memory and truth) on steroids.
